Risk Management

APRS provides our clients with a comprehensive risk management program as part of our continuing service beyond the insurance placement of a risk. We firmly believe that our role is to assist clients in managing risk through both insurance and traditional risk management techniques. It is this philosophy and our extensive experience in professional indemnity insurance for design and construction professionals that has resulted in a risk management service which is unique within the industry.

An increasing number of our Australian clients have expanded their operations and now provide professional services abroad in destinations including New Zealand, China, South East Asia, UK, Europe and the UAE. To meet specific and often onerous contract requirements for these clients, our underwriters and brokers source cover from local and overseas Insurers that specialise in writing PI project specific, multi year and fronting policies.

Our risk managers (who are also qualified solicitors) provide the following value-add services at no additional cost to the initial placement of your Professional Indemnity Insurance policy:

In House Claims Management

In-house Claims Management for clients who are insured via APRUA, notifications and claims are managed by our in-house Claims Managers pursuant to their delegated authority. Our experience suggests that the outcomes of many notifications are determined by the initial steps taken by an insured to respond to a complaint in a timely manner. Our Claims Managers assist the insured to compose well structured written responses to third party complaints or demands. This proactive early involvement and our innovative strategies for resolution often result in complaints being resolved promptly and before they escalate into litigated claims.

General Insurance

Our General Insurance division manages the placement of commercial insurances required by Architects. Our 30+ years of experience have allowed us to understand the risks architects face and as a result we can tailor policies to suit the specific needs of the industry.

We have developed a tailored office insurance policy for our insured architects that is competitive and provides extensive policy coverage. We have negotiated with the insurer to provide additional benefits to our architect clients to ensure their risks are comprehensively protected.

Over the past few years architects are often being contractually obliged to provide Public Liability insurance that complies with the demands of the client. We have developed relationships with specialist insurers that can often accommodate some of these unusual requirements.

Many of our clients have extensive operations based overseas. We are able to provide them with travel insurance and expatriate insurance policies to accommodate the risks associated with having staff travel and work for extended periods overseas.

In addition our general insurance division can provide comprehensive advice and place all types of commercial insurance products.
